Dave Godin was the man who coined the phrase "Northern Soul". He was instrumental in the creation of the UK Tamla Motown Label. He ran a very influential record shop in London as well as a record label. He wrote articles for the Blues & Soul magazine, Black Echoes and others. In short, he was a very important person for the growth of Soul music in this country. This is the long awaited biographical account of Dave Godin, starting with his discovery of R & B as a teenager, in the 1950's.   It's the man and his music.
