Okay, not an official "Audiophile" release but it ticks all the boxes for having superior sound quality to most pressings. If you love this LP this is the one to have for its excellent sound quality. First pressing from Japan in 1972 that does not turn up for sale often. Like a lot of Japanese records this has a slightly brighter tonal balance and crisper high end than other countries releases and that is a good thing as this can be a somewhat murky sounding recording when listening to say, the US release of this. The guitars, drums and cymbals cut through on this pressing compared to the rolled off highs and muddy too warm of a mix on many releases. The usual high quality quiet vinyl Japan is known for. I am rating this at VG+ as there are a few low level ticks in a few places such as the lead in groove at the beginning of Side Two but these are very minor and it would be almost impossible to find a perfect copy of this 50 year old release. Some spindle marks and a few very minor scuffs but overall a great listening experience. Before purchasing note the cut outs in on the inner cardboard sleeve for disc one where someone cut out a small portion 2" x 3 1/2" in three spots for some reason. This falls into the "go figure" category but anyone that has been into vintage vinyl for any length of time sees oddball things like this. Luckily, this just inside and overall this is a very cool package. Matrix # P-505IS. Original rice paper inner sleeves. No OBI, postcards or lyric sheet. Great record! US buyer pays $5.50 for USPS Media Mail. Overseas Air Mail is $32 (it is heavy). Check my feedback for super fast and sturdy packing. All records are cleaned on a VPI record cleaning machine for best sound. Look at my other listings for audiophile, blues and jazz LPs. All records play graded on a high end system and turntable.
