DUKE PEARSON - ANGEL EYES

1968 UK 1st press copy of this highly collectable jazz rarity with the little played vinyl and wonderfully impressive stereo sound quality being true highlights

Year/Label : 1968 UK Polydor
Label number : STEREO 583 723
Matrix numbers : 583723  A//1  420  /  583723  B//1  420
Stampers :  1 1 2  /  1 1 1
Excellent plus (EX+) condition jet black sheen vinyl (many would grade as "near mint", I am sure) with just a couple of extremely faint paper scuffs on each side - nothing feelable or below the surface and purely superficial as borne out by the superb stereo sound quality. Clearly this is a record that has been very sparingly played. Pristine labels - I can just about make out a single small and extremely faint spindle on the side 2 label but apart from that the labels remain unmarked. Fully laminated MacNeill Press very good (VG) condition outer sleeve with firm and unscuffed edges apart from a 1cm scuff on the bottom edge next to the opening edge corner; the 1st press "nipped" end spine is also firm with all spine text remaining fully intact though there is one small horizontal crease towards the top of the spine which does impinge upon the spine and slightly weakens the spine at that point. There is a thin strip of laminate lifting adjacent to the spine on both of the front and reverse sides, some diagonal laminate creasing on the front side towards each of the corners and slightly more pronounced towards the top left corner, some 1-2cm light laminate creases adjacent and perpendicular to the edges on both sides, and some very minor fraying accompanied by a 5mm horizontal tear on the front side opening edge towards the bottom. Each corner remains a nicely defined right angle but with a little rubbing on each.  Excellent plus (EX+) STEREO audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, clicks, interference or distortion and any background crackle is at an absolute minimum...negligible in fact, with just the hint of some very background crackle during a couple of the intermissions. Great tone with crystal clear vocals and instrumentation and every track a great listen. Comes with original plain white inner sleeve with correct horizontal "UK PATENT NO..." text and with no edge splits, a single diagonal crease in one corner, no edge fraying and barely any age discolouration.
 Rare, highly sought after, and a wonderful addition to any serious jazz vinyl collection.   POSTAGE COSTS :

For the UK £4 using Royal Mail tracked 48;

for continental Europe £13 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,

and for the rest of the world £19 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.

I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
