His ninth studio album, it emphasizes soul and R&B more than his usual glam rock. Bowie called it “plastic soul”. Bowie wanted a break from lavish tour sets, and to explore his interest in U.S. soul music. The Song “Across The Universe” is a collaboration with the Beatles’ Lennon and McCarthey, the song “Fascination” is a collaboration with a then unknown Luther Vandross. Despite mixed receptions it charted at #9 on the Billboard 200 album list.

Vinyl = Very Good (VG) condition. There are some light scuffs and long light marks or scratches. They contribute some light clicks and pops (mostly on Side 1) but no skips. Overall this record plays nicely. No writing or stickers on the labels, but they do have marks from sliding over turntable spindles.
Cover = Very Good (VG) condition. It has some scuffing, and moderate edge and corner wear. No splitting. No writing or stickers or sticker residue on this cover.
Inner sleeve = Fair (F) condition. Original paper sleeve with song lyrics. It has typical small light creasing exhibited by most paper inner sleeves, but it also has split three quarters of the length of one side and split about one third of its bottom edge. No writing or stickers or sticker residue on this sleeve.
