This is a gorgeous reissue of the classic 1981 debut by Tom Tom Club, the Talking Heads side project by Tina Weymouth and Chris Franz, featuring the great Adrian Belew on guitar. There were a few color variants of this reissue, this one is the "tropical" one (appropriate for being recorded in Nassau, Bahamas, I think!) of yellow and red marble / splatter. The album features the hits "Wording Rappinghood" and "Genius of Love", the latter of which features in the recently re-released Stop Making Sense film (go see it on the big screen if you haven't yet!).
This is my own copy and has been opened and played a couple of times, and then stored in poly liners. It was also cleaned on a vacuum record cleaning machine, a Music Hall WCS-3 similar to the famous VPI cleaners. Why clean a brand-new album? Because these days, new LPs often come from the factory in less pristine condition than you might expect with particles of dust, paper, etc. This is less of a problem when records are packaged with poly inner sleeves to begin with, but this one was paper. Anyway, that is my routine before I put my needle down on any record, new or used.
