I decided to sell some off my personal collection. At the time of each listing, I am giving a listen to both sides (testing) and add a bit of the listening details you just can’t see in pictures. Nothing worse than putting out money and hearing a nasty skip when you get a chance to give it a spin. This is what my main focus is going to be. I’m also happy to provide more pics upon request and answer any questions. I’m not a pro, I do most research on Discogs and sometimes I still don’t understand what exact pressing or from what plant my copy is from.
This John Lee Hooker album plays with a very light consistent static like noise throughout. Appears to have just light scuffs and scratches. There are just 3 pops on side one/song three a few minutes into it. You can see a very tiny mark/dot (see last photo). Under magnification it looks like a small dot of white paint or something has dried in 3 of the grooves. I did wet the area and wipe it and played it again and it sounded better but I still can count 3 pops. Doesn’t skip and plays through rather nicely. You can even feel it with your finger. I’m happy it plays and decided not to attempt to fix what’s not broken. It is possible that it might be professionally removed. I don’t know how.
The inner sleeve is torn on both sides at the center hole from someone jamming the record back in. The cover has typical wear and there is a 2” spine breakthrough (see pics) also light ring wear and some small creases
