PAUL QUINICHETTE - SUNNY SIDE UP

Great condition 1957 UK 1st press copy of this highly collectable jazz rarity with little played gleaming vinyl and superb audio quality throughout

Year/Label : 1957 UK ESQUIRE Label number : 32-057 Matrix numbers : PRLP - 7103 - A, PRLP - 7103 - B  with "RVG" stamped into each run-off  Stampers :  AB  B 2,  AB  B 1
Excellent plus (EX+) condition, weighty, completely flat and jet black sheen vinyl - in normal daylight the condition of both sides of the vinyl comes across as perfect, and even with close inspection under a bright light each side of the vinyl remains hard t fault, with jus ta couple of very small and extremely faint inconsequential scuff marks - nothing really.  Pristine labels - I can just about make out a couple of small and extremely faint spindle trails on each label but apart from that perfect.  Clearly this is a record that has been very sparingly played - jus ta few times is my guess.  Fully laminated, and notorously fragile, West Brothers excellent (EX) condition flipback outer sleeve with firm and unscuffed edges; firm, thin spine with just a couple of "nicks", nicely defined right angled corners withminimal rubbing on each, straight and taut opening edges with just the hint of some very minor fraying and a tiny 3mm tear towards the top of the reverse side opening edge (see photo). The only other blemishes are some very minor horizontal handling/storage lines on the reverse side top flipback (see photos) and the occasional very light and very minor storage/handling mark. Laminate lifting is virtually non-existent and the only creasing is the very occasional 1cm surface laminate crease adjacent and perpendicular to the front side edges - not obvious at all.  Apart from these very minor aberrations the condition of the sleeve is hard to fault with all art work, colouring and text remaining beautifully intact.  Superb excellent plus (EX+) audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, interference or distortion and not even the hint of any background crackle - extraordinary for vinyl of this age. Great tone with crystal clear instrumentation and every track a great listen with Curtis Fuller (trombone), John Jenkins and Sonny Red Skyner (alto saxes), Paul Quinichette (tenor sax), Mal Waldron (piano), Doug Watkins (bass), and Ed Thigpen (drums) each in sparkling form. Comes with plain white inner sleeve.   Surely there cannot be many copies of this very rare UK 1st press jazz gem in better condition than this!
