DESCRIPTION:
A pair of buff Bluebird 78s by Connie McLean and His Rhythm Orchestra. McLean's band surfaced in 1936 for a pair of recording sessions, first for Decca which produced 3 early race series releases, then a few months later 3 more 78s for Bluebird. These are fairly scarce releases by an obscure black band. While there is little documentation on Connie McLean's Rhythm Orchestra, they were captured by famed Harlem photographer James Van Der Zee probably around the same time (photo not included).
