Hi, I am Mark Picchiotti and I am selling from my private collection this limited edition, Promotional vinyl 12" double pack (2 vinyls) of "Butterfly"; a song I produced for Kylie Minogue's album LIGHT YEARS. The single was an official release on my label Blue2 Records, 6 months prior to the full album release on Parlophone records. 

These vinyls contain 4 different remixes/versions of the song. (Mix listings below) This is a white label release, sent to DJs ahead of the commercial release. Only 1000 were manufactured. In addition to the vinyls I am including the rare promo poster sent with the initial CD orders in 2001.  And finally if you choose, I will include a personalized autograph on either or both.

SONG HISTORY

In 1999 Mark Picchiotti was hired to produce the song “Butterfly” for Kylie Minogue’s comeback album LIGHT YEARS on Parlophone records. As part of the relaunch it was decided to do a very limited run of the song and its remixes in vinyl and CD configurations, via Mark’s label Blue2/Blueplate Records.  Each configuration was manufactured and made available for sale for a 6-month period, after which the song could be found only on the full-length CD via Parlophone. The entire supply sold out within the first 2 weeks. 

 

“Butterfly” was a fan favorite and was slated to be Kylie’s 4th single, but “Please Stay” was instead chosen. At that point production had started on her next album “FEVER”, the career-redefining LP with over 8Million sales of which Mark was happy to once again contribute by producing and co-writing the song “Give It To Me”.
