TCHAIKOVSKY - THE NUTCRACKER
STUNNING CONDITION
PLAYS EX+ / MINT MINUS EX TOP LOADER SLEEVE 'MADE IN ENGLAND' & 'ORIGINAL RECORDING BY' RIM WORDING WIDEBAND - STEREO LABEL ERRORS?

THE RECORD LABELS

THE ORIGINAL 1959 RELEASE OF THIS ALBUM HAD LABELS THAT HAS ' ORIGINAL RECORDING BY' AROUND THE RIM. THESE LABELS WERE REPLACED BY DECCA IN LATE 1961 / EARLY 1962

AT THE TIME THIS ALBUM HAD NOT BEEN REISSUED AND IT WAS LATER ISSUED WITH THE 'MADE IN ENGLAND' LABELS AS A BOX SET

WHAT WE HAVE HERE IS AN ORIGINAL SET OF FIRST PRESS VINYL'S WITH THE -1E MATRIX NUMBERS AND SIDE TWO HAVING THE 'ORIGINAL RECORDING LABEL, AND THE OTHER THREE THE MADE IN ENGLAND LABLES. PRESENTED IN THE 1ST ISSUE GATEFOLD SLEEVE

IT WOULD THEREFORE MAKE SENSE THAT THIS FIRST PRESS WAS SILL IN PRODUCTION AT AND AROUND THE TIME OF THE LABEL CHANGE, AND THE INCORRECT LABELS GOT PLACED ONTO THE THREE SIDES , OR POSSIBLY THE FACTORY HAD BY THEN RUN OUT OF  THE FIRST LABELS AND HAD TO USE THREE OF THE NEWER STYLE

THE WIDEBAND DECCA LABELS ARE IN MINT CONDITION.  THE SILVER TYPEFACE IS PERFECT, AND THE SPINDLE HOLES ARE UNWORN TOTALLY. THERE IS JUST 1-2 MINUSCULE SPIDER LINES BY THE SPINDLE HOLE

THE VINYL

SUPERB BLACK HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL IS IN FANTASTIC CONDITION.  ALL OF THE ORIGINAL SHEEN HAS BEEN RETAINED. IN DAYLIGHT IT LOOKS FLAWLESS
WHEN PLACED UNDER A MAGNIFYING LED HALO IT STILL LOOKS AS GOOD AS NEW APART FROM ONE TINY NON SOUNDING DULL MARK AT THE END OF THE FINAL BAND ON SIDE TWO

THE TEST PLAY

THIS ALBUM PLAYS WITHOUT ANY CRACKLE

ONE THING IS FOR CERTAIN, AND THAT IS THERE IS NO DISTORTION TO ANY OF THE TRACKS WHICH WOULD BE PRESENT IF THE RECORD HAD BEEN ABUSED WITH A WORN OR TOO HEAVY STYLUS CAUSING ANY GROOVE WEAR. NONE WHATSOEVER ON THIS DISC

THE RECORD'S PLAY THROUGH WITH UTMOST CLARITY. THE PERFORMANCE ALL THE WAY THROUGH ALL FOUR SIDES IS JUST OUTSTANDING.
NO EMBEDDED VINYL NOISE

NO BACKGROUND CRACKLE

SILENT LINKING GROOVES

THE FIRST DISC CONTAINING SIDES 1 AND 4 HAVE SOME DUST POPS AND TICS DURING THE PLAY, MOSTLY ON SIDE ONE

THE SECOND DISC CONTATINING SIDES 2 AND 3 PLAYS ALMOST WITHOUT ANY DUST POPS, AND EASILY GRADES MINT MINUS

I AM HAPPY TO GRADE THIS AUDIO AS  EX+ / MINT MINUS

TAKE A LISTEN AND JUDGE IT FOR YOURSELF THOUGH

THE SLEEVE

LAMINATED SOFT BOOKLET STYLE GATEFOLD SLEEVE WITH THE INNER PAGES STAPLED INTO THE SPINE

THE LP'S ARE PLACED INTO THE SLEEVE FROM THE TOP OPENING

HAS THE TRIANGULAR ORIGINAL DECCA LOGO IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER

SLEEVE PRINTED IN ENGLAND  BY MACNEILL

THE FRONT SURFACE IS IN VERY NICE CONDITION.

THE LAMINATE IS VERY GLOSSY AND HAS NO PEEL OR FLAKE, AND ONLY A TINY SPOT OF LIF AT THE TOP OF THE SPINE

THERE ARE SIX TINY PRESURE LINES BY THE SPINE. NONE ALONG THE TOP EDGE, AND FOUR ON THE BOTTOM EDGE AND JUST ONE THUMB LINE NEAR THE OPENING EDGE

THE TWO SPINE CORNER HAS SOME RUB AND HAVE TAKE A SMALL SPECK OF LAMINATE AWAY

THE TOP EDGE HAS A LITTLE FEATHERING

THE BOTTOM EDGE IS SIMILAR

THE SPINE IS FLAT AND SQUASH FREE.WITH A LITTLE RUB TO THE ENDS. AND A COUPLE OF TINY CHIPS TO THE LAMINATE IN THE LOWER HALF

THE REAR SURFACE HASA SMALL TEAR ON THE TOP EDGE, AND A LITTLE  STAIN UNDER THE LAMINATE IN THE BOTTOM LEFT CORNER

OPENING THE GATEFOLD REVEALS THAT THE PAGES ARE ALL FIRMLY AFFIXED INTO THE SLEEVE AND THE STAPLES ARE SECURE. THE PAGES HAVE THE TINIEST BIT OF AGEING TO THE EDGES

THE FFSS POLY LINED INNERS UNSPLIT, BUT LIGHTLY AGED
I AM DELIGHTED TO GRADE THE SLEEVE EX
