MC5 - BACK IN THE USA

A very nice copy of this 1970 UK 1st press rock gem on the highly collectable Atlantic "plum" label, with great stereo audio quality throughout.

Year/Label : 1970 UK ATLANTIC Label number : 2400016 Matrix numbers : 2400016 A//1, 2400016 B//1 Stampers :  1 2 1  /  1 1 3
Very good plus (VG+) condition jet black sheen vinyl - weighty, flat with just a few extremely faint hairlines, a single 3cm thin surface line scuff on side 1 (purely superficial), a small area of scuffing/abrasion right at the edge of side 1 on the dead wax area, and an even smaller area of surface scuffing on each of A1, A2 and A3 all of which are non-obvious and do not impinge upon the impressive stereo playback at all.  Pristine labels - unmarked apart from just a few small and extremely faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label. Clearly this is a record that has been sparingly played, and hard to believe that it is 54 years old!   Both sides laminated very good plus (VG+) condition outer sleeve with firm and unscuffed edges, including the excellent condition spine where all text remains perfectly intact. All colours, photos, text and art work remain beautifully intact. There is some vertical laminate lifting adjacent to the front and reverse spine edges, a little rubbing/discolouration at the very top right corner, and just the hint of some very minor surface ceasing towards the top left corner on the front side - all trivial. Excellent plus (EX+) stereo audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, interference, distortion or clicks and background crackle is virtually non-existent (I'm always hesitant to state no background crackle at all, especially on a 54 year old record, but it really is negligible in this case). Great tone with crystal clear instrumentation and every track a great listen. Comes with original & great condition "PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANGEROUS" poly-lined inner sleeve, correctly dated ("1070") with no edge splits, barely any creasing, and just the hint of some very mild age discolouration towards the front-side top edge - brilliant!   An impressive condition copy of this hard to find and highly collectable UK 1st press 1970 rock gem, with the outstanding audio quality being a true highlight.
POSTAGE COSTS :

For the UK £4 using Royal Mail tracked 48;

for continental Europe £12 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,

and for the rest of the world £16 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.

I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
