The BEATLES - SGT. PEPPERS LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND

Lovely 1967 UK 1st press WIDE SPINE copy with all original components and terrific audio quality throughout

Year/Label : 1967 UK PARLOPHONE Label number : PCS 7027 Matrix numbers :  YEX 637 - 1, YEX 638 - 1 Stampers :  1 0 / 2 H
The condition of the vinyl is excellent (EX) - the vinyl has retained a beautiful jey black lustre and remains flat, weighty, and underplayed. Each side is virtually unmarked and it is only with very close inspection under a bright light that a few paper scuff marks come into view on each side and on side 2 a 4cm extremely fine hairline - all non-obvious, non-feelable, and purely superficial. This vinyl really is a lovely 1st press copy. Truly excellent plus (EX+) condition labels with the only blemishes being a number of small and extremely light spindle trails on each, and with the "K" and "T" tax codes nicely embossed upon the side 1 label. Excellent (EX) condition original 1st press  laminated gatefold sleeve with firm unscuffed edges, including a rigid spine with all spine text remaining perfectly intact and measuring a monumental 0.8cm in width. Each corner remains an almost perfectly defined right angle with barely any rubbing at all though there is just a little "scrunching" on the bottom left side corner accompanied by some minor buckling of 3.5cm of the spine adjacent to that same corner. There is no cardboard creasing, no ring wear, no edge fraying on the opening sides no laminate lifting. The inside of the gatefold is excellent also, with the only blemishes being some buckling along the internal spine and a small scuff mark between the faces of Ringo and John (see photo). So not quite perfect but undoubtedly excellent and remaining eminently presentable. The original "cut-outs" insert is unused and remains in mint condition, and the original "Fools" red flamed inner sleeve is also present with a 3cm split at the middle of the bottom edge, a small area of minor fraying on one of the top edges, and the name "SYLVIA" very lightly written in capital letters on the reverse side.  Terrific excellent plus (EX+) STEREO audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, or distortion and any background crackle is virtually non-existent...in fact I did not notice any at all during playback. Rotational clicking is non-existent though I did notice just two very random and very background small clicks - one on each side...no doubt a speck of dust caught in the grooves through decades of storage. Every track remains a great listen - timeless!    A few very minor blemishes but overall an absolutely beautiful copy of this 1967 UK 1st press rare "wide spine" Beatles classic.
