This new LP by Gary Bennett, A Bend in the River, was engineered by Rega's own Roy Gandy, the sound quality of this recording is outstanding. Recorded between 2006 and 2008 in Roy's studio, a converted barn, there is plenty of room for every instrument to open up, creating a large well defined soundstage, but with an intimate perspective. The arrangements were made with an eye towards simplicity, deconstructed and re-interpreted to allow for ease of recording. There is a stunning vibrancy and immediacy to every track, many of which were recorded in a single live take!
