Remastered From Original Analog Tapes By New York's Sterling Sound!
Michael Fremer Rated 9/10 Music, 10/10 Sound in his June 2014 reviews analogplanet!
Analogue Productions is about to rock your world with the greatest Stevie Ray Vaughan tribute ever reissued: Six of Vaughan's most classic album titles combined in this Ultimate Box Set of six 200g Vinyl 33rpm LPs for ultimate blues and guitar fanatics!
With his astonishingly accomplished guitar playing, Stevie Ray Vaughan ignited the blues revival of the '80s. Vaughan drew equally from bluesmen like Albert King, Otis Rush and Hubert Sumlin and rock & roll players like Jimi Hendrix and Lonnie Mack, as well as the stray jazz guitarist like Kenny Burrell, developing a uniquely eclectic and fiery style that sounded like no other guitarist, regardless of genre. Vaughan bridged the gap between blues and rock like no other artist had since the late '60s. For about seven years, Stevie Ray Vaughan was the leading light in American blues, consistently selling out concerts while his albums regularly went gold. His tragic death in 1990 only emphasized his influence in blues and American rock & roll.
This is classic Stevie Ray Vaughan, meticulously remastered from the original analog tapes by New York's Sterling Sound. The set includes Texas Flood, Couldn't Stand the Weather, Soul to Soul, In Step, plus the posthumous classics Family Style and The Sky Is Crying.
This box set contains 33 1/3 rpm versions of five albums by Stevie Ray Vaughan and also includes the sixth and final album by Stevie Ray recorded with brother Jimmie.
Texas Flood: Texas Flood became a surprise smash and established Vaughan as the preeminent guitar hero of the 1980s featuring the hit song "Pride and Joy".
Couldn't Stand the Weather: The Lone Star guitar master and his Double Trouble bandmates Tommy Shannon and Chris Layton hit their stride with the 1984 sophomore release Couldn't' Stand the Weather.
Soul To Soul: With an expanded lineup, Soul To Soul is one of the legendary guitarist's most highly prized releases that includes such fan favorites as "Look at Little Sister", "Change It", and "Say What!".
In Step: The 1989 Grammy-winning In Step contains the upbeat tracks "The House Is Rockin'" and "Scratch N Sniff".
The Sky Is Crying: A compilation album containing studio recordings by Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble between 1984 and 1989.
Family Style: The only collaboration album for brothers Jimmie and Stevie Ray Vaughan was released just one month after the untimely death of Stevie Ray. Not only was it their only collaboration recording, it turned out to be Stevie Ray's final studio performance.
Those of you familiar with Analogue Productions' previous box sets - Miles Davis and Thelonious Monk, Creedence Clearwater Revival - know how deluxe these sets are. From the detailed liner notes to the rarest photographs, these sets will truly be gems.
For those with an audiophile passion and a pocketbook on a budget, the 33 1/3 rpm 200g 6LP set satisfies like no other.
Each 200g LP set features a look inside the career of a legend whose death at age 35 shocked the music world. A few statistics showcase Vaughan's success and musical influence: His debut album Texas Flood, reached No. 38 on the charts, crossing over to rock radio stations. The album's successor, Couldn't Stand the Weather, released in May 1984, reached No. 31 on the charts; by the end of 1985 it went gold. Vaughan and his band, Double Trouble, recorded their third album, Soul to Soul, released in August 1985, and it reached No. 34 on the charts.
Be prepared to be blown away by this Ultra-High Quality 200g Vinyl 33rpm 6LP set!
"These recordings have never sounded this good, and likely will never sound better. Layers seem to have been stripped away, and the music seems to have been set free. Vaughan's guitar has new bite and edge." -Stereophile
"It's the best these albums have ever and probably will ever sound." -Michael Fremer, analogplanet.com, Music 9/10, Sound 10/10

STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN & DOUBLE TROUBLE 180 GRAM MUSIC ON VINYL DOUBLE LP SET - Limited double 180 gram audiophile vinyl LP pressing includes insert. Live At Carnegie Hall is a live Texas blues album by Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, released in 1997.
The concert was recorded at New York City's Carnegie Hall on October 4, 1984, a day after Vaughan's thirtieth birthday (leading to Vaughan's description of the show as 'My best birthday ever.. forever'). Special guests included drummer George Rains, Dr.John on keyboards, the Roomful of Blues horn section, brother Jimmie Vaughan on guitar, and vocalist Angela Strehli. This was the first and only time in the band's history that the trio was expanded. The set list was in large part Vaughan's personal, private, tribute to his role models; he played tunes by Guitar Slim, Albert Collins, and Albert King, all musicians who never got to perform in the legendary concert hall. The album charted on the Billboard 200, and was the #1 Blues album for eight weeks.

With his astonishingly accomplished guitar playing, Stevie Ray Vaughan ignited the blues revival of the '80s. Before the Montreux Jazz Festival, before Bowie's Let's Dance album, before Texas Flood, before the Grammys, before the cocaine and alcohol abuse, before the redemption of sobriety, before the joyful In Step and Family Style ... before August 27, 1990... before the all-star tributes, before "The Legendary Stevie Ray Vaughan"... There was an unknown, hardworking 24-year-old gunslinger named Little Stevie Vaughan, learning his craft the hard way in the trenches of the Austin Texas clubs, trying his darndest to get out of the shadow of his famous older brother Jimmie. It wouldn't be long.
Anyone lucky enough to have been in the audience at this early live show, on April Fools Day in 1980, could have told you that. Young Stevie Vaughan (he had yet to become Stevie Ray) blasted the hometown crowd with a style that was already very well-formed. With Chris Layton on drums and bassist Jackie Newhouse (Tommy Shannon would join up a year later), his basic sound was already in place, albeit still in need of some polishing.
Taken from the surviving two-track master, Vaughan's guitar is raw and in your face every note of the way. His takes on Freddie King's "In the Open" and the lengthy "Tin Pan Alley" are the real highlights here
