"We Are The Intimidators" (1 Song 33rpm Flexi-Disc, 1979) The Band's Only Release - 50 Play Records
Pics are the actual item you're buying (please excuse my dusty scanner).
Tampa Bay's premiere New Wave pioneers only released one record... this incredibly rare flexi-disc from 1979, "We Are The Intimidators." Needless to say, I'm not grading this one... because anyone who knows flexi-discs knows that they aren't known for their longevity. Even the band knew this when they issued it, as they called their homemade indie label "50 Play Records." And while this flexi, with the paper backing still fully intact and looking pretty damned good for being around 40 years old, hasn't actually been through 50 plays, it's still a crap shoot for sound quality. As a result, this needs to be an AS IS sale.
For fans of the Tampa Bay music scene, Zenith Nadir bassist James St. James (who owns the copyright, according to the fine print) went on to form the dB Records band, Right As Rain, who were produced by Brendan O'Brien. It doesn't get much rarer than this when it comes to Tampa Bay's New Wave scene of the 70s/80s. Manufactured at the worldwide mecca of flexi-discs, Eva Tone Soundsheets in Clearwater.
