HOT ROD LINCOLN!
1) by CHARLIE RYAN & THE TIMBERLINE RIDERS (b/w Thru The Mill, 4 Star #1733 1st pressing, 1959); plus
2) by JOHNNY BOND (b/w Five Minute Love Affair, Republic #2005 1st pressing, 1960): 2 CLEAN M- 45s!
Both of these 45s are in primo shape; the Charlie Ryan single is CLEAN M- & Johnny Bond's 45 looks unplayed. The pair is valued at $50-$75 in this condition!
Even savvy oldtimers think Oklahoma boy Johnny Bond (1915-1978) recorded the original Hot Rod Lincoln, which was also a hit for Commander Cody's Lost Planet Airmen in the '70s. But it was Pride of Spokane Charlie Ryan (1915-2008) who wrote & first recorded it. Charlie's "answer song" to Tiny Hill's Hod Rod Race charted at #33 on the Hot 100 (#14 C&W); Johnny Bond's 1960 cover reached #26. Here's both scarce 45s, ready for your next run. Great sound for your turntable, jukebox...or put 'em in The Vault!
