From The Personal Archive Of George Manney.
George Manney was a world renowned Philadelphia rock music pioneer, documentary filmmaker, musical archivist and producer. He entered the public eye playing drums for the late 60s psychedelic rock band, Stone Dawn who was a crucial part of the formation of the tri-state rock scene. Manney’s peers were the likes of Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Nazz / Todd Rundgren, Pink Floyd and he opened for many of them at the beginnings of such historic venues as the original Electric Factory, The 2nd Fret and The Trauma. Manney’s later played with Alan Mann, Beru Revue, Kenn Kweder and, in the 2000s, with Robert Hazard and Charlie Gracie.
In 1986, Manney created Geo Sound, a production company and center for his musical activities that stood as a keystone of the Philly music and arts scene.
Mr. Manney also became infamous for his outstanding and immaculate music collection, especially for his Beatles items, which inspired and informed many music aficionados across the globe. Many of these very items will be for sale via this e-bay account.
