·       “WEDDING ALBUM” by John Ono Lennon & Yoko Ono Lennon

·       This is Apple Records SMAX – 3361.

·       This LP/box set was issued October 20, 1969.

·       I refer to this a “box set” because, while it contains one vinyl record, it came with numerous inserts as additional contents of the box. These included:

1)   A copy of the Gibraltar Marriage License pasted inside the box lid

2)   12” x 12” book entitled “The Press”

3)   1.5” x 6” strip of photos of John & Yoko

4)   3.5” x 5’ postcard

5)   12’ x 36” two-sided poster featuring drawings

6)   11.5” x 11.5” photo of a slice of wedding cake

7)   A translucent bag to hold the wedding cake photo with “Bagism” printed on one side

8)   24” x 36” two sided poster labeled “The Wedding”

9)   The vinyl record

10)      The gatefold cover for the vinyl record

·       The WEDDING ALBUM BOX SET in this auction is NOT COMPLETE. In addition to the box itself, the following contents are included:

1)   A copy of the Gibraltar Marriage License pasted inside the box lid

2)   11.5” x 11.5” photo of a slice of wedding cake

3)   A translucent bag to hold the wedding cake photo with “Bagism” printed on one side

4)   The vinyl record

5)   The gatefold cover for the vinyl record

So, about half of the contents are included.

·       Plus each item is identified as CORRECT for this box set by the “SMAX – 3361” printed in the lower corner of each item that make up the contents. This is the LP number for items in the VINYL Box Set. (Note: I have run across some Vinyl Wedding Album Box Sets that included replacement items from the Cassette or 8-Track Box sets. You can identify such items switched out between sets by the “8AX – 3361” printed on the items included in the 8-track box set or “4AX – 3361” printed on the items included in the cassette Box Set.  

·       As for condition:

1)   The BOX is probably in VG CONDITION; however, I prefer to let the images speak for the condition of the box along with the description below:

A)  The box top or lid shows light to moderate overall wear. The lid has NO split corners. There is a tear on the right side of the lid, a crease on the top side of the lid and a small ding on the top side of the lid about 5 inches from the crease. (Please check the images to see.)

B)  The box bottom has NO split corners. There is a tear on the right side of the bottom that is in the same location as the tear on the side of the lid. There is also a crease on the top edge of the bottom that matches the location of the crease on the top side of the lid. (Please check the images to see.) The box bottom shows some overall aging. The box bottom bows inward slightly.

2)   The GATEFOLD LP COVER is NEAR MINT to NEAR MINT MINUS with just extremely slight wear.

3)   The VINYL RECORD is in STRONG VG+ CONDITION. Only a few very slight surface hairlines and some paper scuffs keep me from grading the vinyl NEAR MINT.

4)   The OTHER ITEMS/CONTENTS OF THE BOX are NEAR MINT.

·       It’s a GREAT JOHN LENNON ITEM on VINYL now almost 50 years old!!!
