BUDDY GUY COLLECTION OF 11 TITLES WITH 16 PIECES OF VINYL - THIS IS OUR LAST SET FOREVER OF THESE PRISTINE SEALED CONDITION TITLES.

STARTING THIS COLLECTION IS - I WAS WALKING THRU THE WOODS - COLLECTORS TREMENDOUSLY RARE MCA AUDIOPHILE PRESSING FROM THE MID-90'S DECADES OUT OF PRINT AND IS THE ANCHOR TO THIS 10 TITLES AND 15 PIECES OF VINYL COLLECTION. ONLY 4 VARIOUS TITLES WERE EVER PRESSED IN THESE MCA AUDIOPHILE 180 GRAM SERIES IN THE 1990'S. THIS TREMENDOUSLY RARE TITLE STARTS/ANCHORS THIS COLLECTION.

This album, originally issued as Chess CH 409, includes the seminal - The First Time I Met The Blues, the opening line of which gives the LP its title. A fiercely intense and powerful song, it typifies Guy's ferocious attack and, when first released, drew comparisons to the work of the young Robert Johnson. ]

Though Junior Wells plays a subsidiary role on most of the album, his sensitive support can be heard (to good advantage on songs like -  I Got A Strange Feeling -  (a Willie Dixon song which Guy later re-arranged and re-recorded).

The albums reception solidified Guy's reputation as a first-rate guitarist and singer, and freed him from earlier comparisons to B.B. King. It draws material from several different sessions recorded between 1960 and 1964, and while Kings influence can be heard in certain places, it's undeniable that Buddy guy, both as a singer and as a guitarist, established himself on this album as one of Chicago's premier - and most unique - modern bluesmen.

Music critic, Michael Fremer, editor of The Tracking Angles and contributing editor for Stereophile, said about this MCA Heavy Vinyl re-mastered from the Original Analog Tapes (with no noise suppression or bass roll-off) that  music erupts out of total silence from these thick 180 Gram Virgin Vinyl discs with a velvety smoothness, spaciousness, and ultra high resolution that stuns even the most committed CD die-hard.

Slash-and-burn guitar solos are the specialty of this Chicago blues mainstay. Emerging in the late '60s, Buddy Guy staked his claim with a series of string-sizzlin sides for Chess. I Was Walking Through The Woods collects his best known hailstones and firestorms like "My Time After Awhile" and "Stone Crazy".

Junior Wells Coming At You 180 GRAM AUDIOPHILE LP + BUDDY GUY

The Chicago blues vocalist, harmonica player, and recording artist, Junior Wells was one of the pioneers of the amplified blues harp-style associated with Chicago. His signature songs was "Messin' With the Kid' and his 1965 album, Hoodoo Man Blues, was described by Bill Dahl as 'one of the truly classic blues albums of the 1960s."

One of the great electric blues albums of the ‘60s, this gem features harmonica player and singer Junior Wells at his finest. With fellow Chicago musician Buddy Guy on lead guitar, Coming At You showcases the two fiery musician’s talents in the studio, as they play a selection of blues standards. Back on vinyl for the first time in over 40 years, this 50th anniversary reissue was cut from the original analog master, pressed on 180-gram vinyl, and comes housed in a tip-on jacket.

"Another eminently solid outing by the legendary harpist that captures his trademark barroom bravado in a studio setting. The band is quite tight -- Buddy Guy and Lefty Dizz are the guitarists, Douglas Fagan plays sax, and Clark Terry, believe it or not, occupies a third of the trumpet section -- and the set list is dominated by oldies from both Sonny Boys, Willie Dixon, and John D. Loudermilk (Junior invests his "Tobacco Road" with a lights-out toughness that the Nashville Teens could never even imagine)." - allmusic

BUDDY GUY LIVE AT LEGENDS 2 LP LIMITED EDITION (Colored Vinyl)

Limited Edition Colored Vinyl! Recorded Live at the Original Buddy Guy's Legends in Chicago! Includes 3 Previously Unreleased Sutdio Recordings!

Buddy Guy's first live album in over a decade, Live At Legends contains 7 live tracks recorded during Buddy's final residency at his own Legends nightclub location in January 2010.

The tracklisting includes classics by some of the greats, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Cream & Jimi Hendrix.

Buddy Guy was honored at the Kennedy Center Honors gala on December 2, 2012 for his Lifetime Achievement and contribution to the arts.

Over the course of his 50+ year career, Buddy has racked up several other honors including 6 Grammy awards, a 2010 Blue Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award, 23 W.C. Handy Awards (more than any other artist), a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction and the Presidential National Medal of Arts.

"Live at Legends captures the raging bluesman during a blistering set at his club in early 2010, playing pretty much exactly what you'd expect: "Damn Right I Got the Blues," "Best Damn Fool," and medleys of "I Just Want to Make Love to You/Chicken Heads," "Boom Boom/Strange Brew," and "Voodoo Chile/Sunshine of Your Love." That said, this isn't a complaint. While it's true that Guy and his crack band have his show down cold -- this same basic set has been around for at least a decade with some additions and substitutions made while on tour playing larger venues -- they throw down each and every time. Given that this is his club, the senses of immediacy and a certain closeness are present here whereas they're missing on other live recordings. While Legends isn't exactly an intimate venue, it's a lot smaller than many of the places Guy plays every year. The sound is great, it keeps the raw edges and Guy tears the guitar to pieces throughout... For the faithful, this amounts to a necessary "new" Buddy Guy recording." - Thom Jurek, allmusic

BUDDY GUY RHYTHM & BLUES DOUBLE LIMITED EDITION ORIGINAL 2013 RELEASED LP

Double LP Features Legendary Bluesman Buddy Guy Collaborating With Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Kid Rock, Beth Hart, Gary Clark, Jr., and Keith Urban!

Six-time Grammy Award winner and 2012 Kennedy Center Honoree Buddy Guy releases his studio album Rhythm & Blues on RCA Records. The follow-up to his 2010 Grammy Award winning album Living Proof, this double-disc masterpiece features first time studio collaborations with A-list artists Kid Rock, Keith Urban, Gary Clark, Jr., Beth Hart and Aerosmith members Steven Tyler, Joe Perry and Brad Whitford.

Produced by Grammy Award winning producer/songwriter and longtime collaborator Tom Hambridge (Skin Deep, Living Proof), Rhythm & Blues captures the 76 year-young Guy at the peak of his creativity. Replete with heartfelt vocals, straightforward lyrics and mesmerizing guitar licks, Rhythm & Blues not only exemplifies how blues continues to be the foundation of all genres of today’s music, it also illustrates why Guy has been influential in the careers of Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Stevie Ray Vaughan and more.

The Rhythm disc includes rhythm and blues-style blues with deep grooves, such as the Junior Wells’ 1960 hit “Messin With The Kid” featuring Kid Rock, the touching “One Day Away” with Keith Urban, and “What You’re Gonna Do About Me,” a rousing duet with Beth Hart. Guy rounds out the disc with “Best In Town,” “Whiskey Ghost,” Guitar Slim’s “Well I Done Got Over It” and more.

The Blues disc taps into the genre’s rich history with “Meet Me In Chicago,” “I Could Die Happy,” “Never Gonna Change” and “All That Makes Me Happy Is The Blues.” Aerosmith’s Tyler, Perry and Whitford contribute to the musical lesson with “Evil Twin” while Gary Clark, Jr. joins Guy on “Blues Don’t Care.”

JUNIOR WELLS & BUDDY GUY HOODOO MAN BLUES DELMARK RECORDS DS-612 LIMITED LP

One of the all-time great urban blues records and the best-seller in the famed Delmark catalog. Hoodoo Man Blues is so full of bravado and snap it'll make you feel tough just listening to it. Not all of the Delmark titles were recorded very well, but this one certainly was. And at 45 RPM, this now stands as the undisputed definitive version. Hoodoo Man Blues, which features Buddy Guy on guitar, is not only Junior Wells' first LP appearance, it's damn near the first LP by a Chicago blues band. Chess and a few other labels had reissued 45s by Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson, Howlin' Wolf, Jimmy Reed, Elmore James, etc., but virtually no one had tried to capture the Chicago blues sound free of the limitations of juke box/airplay promotion. Hoodoo Man Blues went a long way in the popularization of real Chicago blues and of Junior Wells. The original LP was listed on Stereophile's Record To Die For list.

Musicians:
Junior Wells, harmonica, vocals
