CAN'T BUY ME LOVE/YOU CAN'T DO THAT (Capitol #17690 CEMA Special Markets "FOR JUKEBOXES ONLY!" 45 on GREEN vinyl, 1994): UNPLAYED MINT 45 w/jukebox title strip!
This Special Markets single plays on any 45RPM turntable.
Can't Buy Me Love proved The Beatles weren't one-hit wonders when it topped the U.S. Hot 100 in the mad Spring of '64. Pressed on GORGEOUS GREEN vinyl with its jukebox title strip. All the CEMA Special Markets 45s were pressed in miniscule quantities:
The CEMA Special Markets 45s are the rarest stock-copy Beatles singles ever released in the US; there were between 10,000 and 22,000 copies pressed of each "FOR JUKEBOXES ONLY!" 45. When issued in the mid-'90s, juke-jobbers filling their machines were switching to CD jukeboxes. They didn't want the records, so Capitol sold them to chain stores & mail-order companies just to get rid of them. The scarcity of the 29 colored vinyl Beatles 45s is impressive compared to the countless millions of '60s orange-and-yellow swirls and the immense flood of orange, blue & purple-label reissues of the '70s and '80s. The entire series includes 9 singles that had never before appeared as U.S. 45s & 2 others with alternate flip sides. The value of this beautiful Beatles single continues to climb over 25 years after its release.
Sounds great on your turntable, jukebox...or put it in The Vault!
...don't miss it!
