ITEM DESCRIPTION:

THE HISTORY OF ROCK

The History Of Rock is a set of forty albums (LP's) that were compiled by Bob Fisher (BBJ International) and published/sold in the UK from 1981 by Orbis Publishing Ltd.   
Each of the forty volume set (of which many are double albums) features a collection of classic recordings by the original artists from Elvis, through to The Beatles, including Rock, Heavy, Glam, Punk & The Sex Pistols to Elvis Costello. 
Each of the volumes has a gatefold sleeve that contain extensive notes inside. 
The Beatles volume is of particular interest as the second disc contains the Hollywood Bowl recordings from 1964-65. 
The overall condition of the sleeves is generally excellent with just a little discolouration in the spine edges.  On Volume One (as shown in the photographs) there is wear to the top edge.
All of the vinyl discs are in EX condition as they appear to have been barely played.
When this set was launched in 1981, a 45RPM 7" single by BUDDY HOLLY was supplied with Volume One.  This rarely seen (often missing) single is included in the set.

CONDITION:

I have physically examined every disc.  They are all bright, clean and glossy with no visible marks.  They pretty much give the appearance of being unplayed. This really is a stunning collection.

OTHER INFORMATION:

All forty discs weigh over a colossal fifteen kilos!  Therefore this is a UK only listing that will be delivered by Courier service

I always try to post out on the day of purchase if purchase is completed by 1400hrs.

Condition gradings:

M - Mint - In perfect/as new condition.  PLEASE NOTE: we will only list as MINT if we know for certain that the record has not been played ie it is still sealed.

NM - Near Mint - The disc has the appearance of being unplayed, the cover has no obvious signs of wear

EX - Excellent - Sleeve and vinyl is used and shows only very minor (if any) signs of wear.

VG - Very Good  - Sleeve will have obvious signs of wear/damage. Vinyl will have obvious signs of wear but will play with no major faults (although there may be some surface noise).

G - Good - Sleeve will have significant wear/damage. Vinyl will have a fair amount of surface damage however it will play with no sticks or jumps but will have significant surface noise

F - Fair - Sleeve will be badly damaged. Vinyl will have significant damage and may play with surface noise and may jump/stick etc.

+ & - may be used if an item is between standard gradings.

When posting, all records are carefully packaged in custom made record mailers with card stiffeners.  All vinyl will be removed from its original outer sleeve (or any printed inner sleeve) and placed in a paper inner (to prevent seam splitting while in transit).
