There is something about the unbridled joy that Marty McFly experiences when, after vanquishing his two main foes (Biff and time itself), he introduces his parent’s generation to the future in its purest, most rebellious form, Chuck Berry’s Johnny B. Goode. It’s McFly’s version on the soundtrack, but it’s also one of the more perfect uses of an American classic in all of film. Beyond that, the soundtrack mixes 1980’s guitar-driven pop with 1950’s vocal-driven doo wop and includes a couple of tracks from Alan Silvestri’s rousingly memorable score. Get it.
