Released in 1973, Billion Dollar Babies is the sixth studio album by Alice Cooper.  At 47 years old, the vinyl plays well and sounds great. And while the cover is showing its age, its seams, corners, and spine are strong.

 

With its elaborate packaging and some of the band’s best songs, including Elected and No More Mr. Nice Guy, the album hit number one in the US and the UK, and quickly went platinum. According to Alice Cooper the man, Billion Dollar Babies is about Alice Cooper the band becoming the number one band in the world, thinking that they didn’t belong there, but knowing how great it was to be there. Nearly half a century later, Billion Dollar Babies  is considered  by many to be one of rock’s all-time, quintessential classics, and Alice Cooper continues to record and tour.

 

This copy of Billion Dollar Babies includes its original gatefold cover in a snakeskin motif and its original color-printed inner sleeve. Alas, the oversize billion dollar bill and the 10 perforated trading cards are lost to history.
