MELODY MAKER MAGAZINE OCTOBER 1930 - LEW STONE COVER, JOHNNY HAMP ETC!

‘The Melody Maker & British Metronome’ magazine was founded by music publisher Lawrence Wright in 1926, and soon became the Bible for young jazz and dance band fans, as well as professional musicians. It regularly featured articles and music hints by the likes of Adrian Rollini, Fred Elizalde, Max Bacon and Bobby Davis, and its record reviews promoted Bix Beiderbecke, Red Nichols and Miff Mole, before later in the late 1920s championing Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington. Early copies are extremely rare, so it is with pleasure we are offering a clean copy of the October 1930 issue, featuring bandleader  Lew Stone on the cover. 92pp, plus cover, with great photos (including Johnny Hamp in London + review), Jimmy Dorsey in Ostend, news  etc.  All this plus record reviews, great articles, loads of photos and much more!
