ERIC DOLPHY
Out To Lunch (LP, 1964/1975) Blue Note BST 84163 Rare 1975 Blue Label Reissue.
One of the all time greats. This rare blue label 1975 reissue of the essential 1964 Blue Note release is in outstanding condition. No scratches, no rings (only the FAINT beginnings of a vinyl "dent" on top front), no shelf wear (super clean edges and spine) and no real issues to speak of... a VERY minor nubbed corner, some odd marks on Side 1 that can't be felt and should probably disappear with a deep cleaning (something I can't provide). Any issues on playback? Just return it. Check my feedback. As you might already know, this is the US stereo BST 84163 (on the label), but the back cover states BLP-4163/84163. Why this is has never been explained to me, but it's the norm for these issues. "Van Gelder" is etched into the run out groove. The band, of course, needs no introduction: Freddie Hubbard, Bobby Hutchinson, Richard Davis and Tony (Anthony) Williams. Musically, you already KNOW how many people call this their all-time favorite album.
