Here is a HIGHLY DESIRABLE, HARD-TO-FIND, and LEGENDARY OUT-OF-PRINT LP, hands down! It’s the first and only LP by Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks who later went on to join Fleetwood Mac.
It has truly become a LANDMARK LP now more than 45 years old that launched the careers of two exceptional recording artists. In fact, this LP is so iconic that it was pictured in the CNN documentary series, “The Seventies”, on TV!
In this auction:
“BUCKINGHAM NICKS” self-titled first & only LP by Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks
Both later went on to join Fleetwood Mac.
This is Polydor PD 5058.
This LP was released September 5, 1973.
The GATEFOLD COVER has the song lyrics printed inside.
The LP in this auction is the ORIGINAL 1973 FIRST PRESSING LP. We know this because:
It has the GATEFOLD COVER with the printed lyrics inside. (The second pressing re-release in 1975 and re-issues in 1981 did NOT have the gatefold cover and did NOT have the printed lyrics.)
The LABELS on the vinyl only have “Polydor Records” printed on them at the bottom. (Later pressings also have the Polydor address also printed on the labels.)
This original 1973 1st pressing has become hard to come by in nice condition these days.
This is an EXCELLENT LP in terms of content and contains 10 great cuts including “Don’t Let Me Down Again”, “Long Distance Winner”, “Crying in the Night”, “Without a Leg to Stand On”, “Races Are Run”, “Crystal” (a Stevie Nicks’ song long sought after by fans), and “Frozen Love”.
The LP has a great line up of cuts you can only hear by listening to the LP, because the LP is WAY OUT OF PRINT and contains GREAT material from the team-up of Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks.
The GATE-FOLD COVER is in NICE VG+ CONDITION. There is very light overall wear to the front and rear slicks (as you can see in the images). There is a small bit of wear on the bottom right corner and at the top and bottom of the spine. Inside the gate-fold cover is clean and snowy white! There is minmal wear on the edges. There are NO seam splits, NO writing, NO ring wear and NO tears on this cover.
As you probably know, the dark front slick/image was prone to easily show wear over a short time by rubbing against other LP covers. But, as you can see in the images, this one has very little/very minor wear.
The VINYL is NICE VG+ CONDITION with some very light surface hairlines/scuffs (micro-hairlines/scuffs) and lots of gloss.
It’s nothing less than a LEGENDARY LP that no vinyl collection should be without.
FYI: I use Goldmine Grading Standards (P for Poor, F for Fair, G for Good, G+ for Good Plus, VG for Very Good, VG+ for Very Good Plus, NM for Near Mint, M for Mint) to VISUALLY GRADE this LP, so please know the descriptions of these grades before bidding.
