UNPLAYED MINT GEM 45 & PICTURE SLEEVE looks virtually untouched 45 years later! Ticket To Ride/Yes It Is 1976 UK-issue 45 with a furtive-looking picture sleeve photo, as if we just interrupted The Beatles smoking a joint.
Audiophiles & Beatles specialists prefer Brit pressings for superior vinyl & original mono mixes. Until the late '60s producer George Martin mixed all Beatles recordings to mono (often with the band's input). Other EMI employees would later do a stereo remix with little or no guidance from Mr. Martin or The Beatles. Original mono mix 45s on virgin vinyl like this one are a revelation, especially for American fans who've only heard muddy U.S. Capitol wax. Capitol often used 2nd or even 3rd-generation tapes for mastering & pressed American 45s & LPs on recycled vinyl, resulting in pops & clicks even on new records. UK records were pressed on virgin vinyl with superb audio fidelity.
