Newly Remastered for Blue Note 75th Anniversary Vinyl!

I Want to Hold Your Hand is an album by American jazz guitarist Grant Green featuring performances recorded in 1965 and released on the Blue Note label. Grant Green is joined by Hank Mobley, Larry Young and Elvin Jones for this 1965 recording.

Newly remastered for vinyl as part of an overall Blue Note 75th anniversary vinyl reissue campaign spearheaded by current Blue Note Records President, Don Was.

"Even with all the straightforward pop overtones of much of the material, the quartet's playing is still very subtly advanced, both in its rhythmic interaction and the soloists' harmonic choices. Whether augmented by an extra voice or sticking to the basic trio format, the Green/Young/Jones team produced some of the most sophisticated organ/guitar combo music ever waxed, and I Want to Hold Your Hand is the loveliest of the bunch." -Steve Huey, allmusic

After a prolific 5-year run from 1961-1965 when he made more than 20 great hard bop & soul jazz albums for Blue Note, guitarist Grant Green took a 4-year hiatus from recording. When he returned to Blue Note in 1969, Green's style had moved into funkier territory as was perfectly captured on his first-ever live album "Alive!" which captured a hard-driving set of jazz-funk at the Cliché Lounge in Newark, New Jersey in 1970. This Blue Note 80 Vinyl Edition is all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray.
