** Original 1970 UK VERTIGO PRESSING of classic debut BLACK SABBATH LP **
** Early release of this LP on original large swirl UK VERTIGO VO6 with large swirl label and mis-spelt "OSSIE" credits **
** Rare opportunity to get a good example of this 50+ year-old pioneering hard rock classic, with good audio quality **
An Very Good+ condition disc. Several surface marks, light scratches and a surface scuff on Track 1, Side 1 (see photos) - but very few of these cause any audible issues at all, and sound quality remains very good throughout. Clean labels on both sides, with some spindle marks which are only visible in a certain light. No skips, jumps, warps, sticking, or writing on labels. No Philips credit.
Very good sound quality in general, with very little surface noise, apart from some minor surface noise on the quietest of passages (of which there aren't many!..). Very listenable. Tested on a Thorens turntable.
Sleeve is the original UK issue unlaminated version, with mis-spelt "Ossie Osborne" in credits, and is in Very Good+ condition. Some general wear - especially to all edges and corners, and opening edges. No creasing. No seam splits. No writing anywhere. Spine in worn condition, with text now no longer clearly legible.
Supplied in original Vertigo swirl factory sleeve, with polythene insert, and "Plastic bags can be dangerous" text. This is in Very Good+ condition, with some general wear, a very small 1cm seam split at the centre of one edge, some age-related discolouration in places, but no writing anywhere.
GRADING:
All records are graded using the 'Record Collector' format:
MINT (M): The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
