Elton John – I’ve Been Loving You 1968 7” Philips BF 1643. This is an OK / frustrating example of I’ve Been Loving You / Here’s To The Next Time by Elton John. It was released on the Philips label in 1969 – BF 1643. The playing surface looks to be around G. It plays better than that. There are some marks that look a bit concerning – but they are mainly just scuffs. There is a scratch at the start that means a fairy quiet ‘tick’ for the first few revolutions. PLEASE READ THIS BIT…… The main reason I have used the word ‘frustrating’ is that I have notice a slight split. NOT a crack. But while I was cleaning it I became aware that there is a partial split to the surface that will only become apparent if you were to bend the record. So…. Don’t to that!! Looking at the a-side it is between the six o’clock and seven o’clock positions. I cannot take a picture of it as it does not show at all when the record is flat. There is no reason for it to get any worse so long as you do not mistreat the record. To sum up, after some light crackle at the start and those handful of quiet ‘ticks’ the record plays well! There is writing on the label. The record will be supplied in an original Philips company cover.
