Side One: FIVE HUNDRED MILES AWAY FROM HOME THE MATADOR RING OF FIRE MAMA SANG A SONG STILL Side Two: THE END OF THE WORLD PETTICOAT JUNCTION DETROIT CITY GOING THRU THE MOTIONS LET’S GO ALL THE WAY To many of us Country and Western music is a way of life. Down through the years, various new trends affect the "Pop" and Rhythm and Blues markets and a new dance and a new sound is always on the threshold ready to push out of the way current fad. In the country field this is not true. If anything can be said about country songs and the artists who record them here in Nashville, it is simply that it keeps getting better and better as the years go by. There is really very little change in the basic style of the songs that have become hits. This album was recorded in its entirety here in the World's Capitol of Country Music — Nashville, Tennes- see. If you have visited Nashville on a Saturday night, you have seen many of the musicians and singers (in personal appearances) that appear on this album. Hun- dreds of Country and Western songs are recorded here every year. A hundred or so of these songs become popular enough to rate a position on the best selling charts for record buyers. A select few reach real hit status and are issued awards at the annual Country Music Festival held here the latter part of each year. The selections listed above were recent award winners. We recorded them, using Nashville's finest musicians and studios and each selection recaptures the sound of the original hit. This is an album that will be cherished for years to come.
