There have been political changes, and many economical changes. While all these changes were taking place, if you will just think about it a little, our world of music has changed very little We still have our love ballads, our folk songs, our jazz and our many other types of music. Out of all these types of music there is one type that stands out from all the rest and our group being born and raised in and around the foot hills of the blue ridge mountains of North Carolina and Virginia, this type of music has always been in our hearts. This type of music is called BLUE GRASS and is played with a combination of musical instruments called the five string banjo, the mandolin, the bass fiddle, the fiddle and the guitar. Three brothers, James Edd and myself (Russell) grew up together with the love of this type of music in our hearts. We began playing music together when we were very young, around seven and eight years old. Later the three of us were married and our children also grew up with the love of this type of music in their hearts and four of them have joined our group. Our whole life has been one big bundle of music and we have enjoyed it, but the real joy came when the Lord came into our life. One by one the Lord saved each of us until we were all Christians. This was the greatest change in our lives, but for us the love for music never changed, somehow God had left- it there in our hearts. As our lives grew more spiritual we felt that the Lord had a work for us. We knew that somehow we must tell the world about Jesus and we began .to realize that this was the reason God had left the desire to play music in our heart. As we began to read the bible and pray God annointed us to write songs about the bible and its teachings. We found many places in the bible where we should use our stringed instruments to serve God. PSALMS 150 David tells us to praise God with stringed instruments and we believe this means every instrument that has strings on it, any where that we can, play it. We began to find different churches that would let us come in and play our instruments and sing for the Lord. For the last eighteen years this has been our goal. It has not always been easy, at first there were only a few churches that would welcome our stringed instruments, but as the years went.» by more and more doors were opened for us, and even as I set here writing this little story of our lives ! can look back over the years and then think of the title of the album (JUST ANOTHER HILL.) I can truly say, "Lord there have been times when the trials were'hard and times when the burdens were hard to bare, but Lord I realize it was just another hill we had to climb and just another tear for yo‘u to wipe away. If we can just hold on a little longer we'll be rejoicing in heaYen some day." Our group consists of: RUSSELL, JAMES, EDD, RUSSELL JR., ROGER, STEVIE AND ARNOLD EASTER and REV. H.O. JENKINS JR. The song (SIXTY FOUR ROSES FOR MOTHER) featured on this album is a wonderful song for Mother's Day. . The song (I'LL MEET YOU IN THE MORNING) featured on this album is a heart touching song and recitation for Father s Day.
