Most of my LPs were purchased during the 1970s but have been rarely played since the mid-80s (please feel free to read my record collecting backstory beneath the item description). My records have always been stored upright in protective sleeves and although I've never owned an expensive record-cleaning machine, I have given them the occasional hand-clean, using 'Vinyl Revival' 2-step cleaning solution and microfibre cloth (I can almost hear the gasps of exasperation from the audiophiles...)
I’ve play-tested each record individually before listing and graded them using the Record Collectors Grading System (copied at the foot of the page) but with some allowance for age, as most of my records are 40+ years old. I therefore ask all prospective buyers to consider them in this context. I’ve tried to be as comprehensive as possible with my description but my uploaded photos are there to help you establish your own idea of the item condition.
I haven’t listed any record that sticks, jumps or displays any excessive warp while being played, as I truly wish to avoid having to deal with returns from unhappy customers. Please carefully read all details of the item description in conjunction with the uploaded images prior to making your purchase, to avoid disappointment afterwards.

Gradings, this record:
Vinyl: (Aural): EX: I’d forgotten just what a deeply satisfying and intimate experience it is, listening to Joni singing about priests and buskers and seasons going round. I have a great affection for her early songs and the relative innocence of their lyrics. Hearing this album again is like enjoying a glass of Beaujolais beside an open fire in a cosy pub with a long-lost friend…, and the (occasional) gentle crackle only adds to the ambience, like the logs on the fire…
Vinyl: (Visual): EX: Apart from a few very minor hairlines, there is nothing negative to report! The vinyl still has a beautiful deep lustre, with no obvious warp.
Labels: VG: Unfortunately, time has been less kind to the labels, which have started to display a few age spots (a bit like me). Spindle marks are minimal but the centre hole looks very slightly out of round.
Sleeve: VG: The most prominent ‘fault’ with the matt finish gatefold sleeve is grubbiness and age discolouration, which stands out quite noticeably on the white cover. It’s a shame, because condition wise, the sleeve is still very strong looking, with a square spine and minimal edge and corner wear. Externally, there is a half-ring mark to the centre top rear cover and one or two light surface creases around the spine area (please see photos). The title text and catalogue number are still clearly visible on the spine. The inside of the gatefold is defect-free apart from some further age discolouration.
Inner sleeve: EX: The plain white paper inner has some yellowing and a couple of creases but is completely intact, with no tears or splits. For the last eight years the record has been stored inside a MOFI anti-static replacement inner, which is in excellent condition.
This record will be securely packed and dispatched in a custom mailer within four working days of receiving payment (usually much earlier). I ship all LPs via either Royal Mail 2nd class signed for or Royal Mail Tracked 48.
I can ship up to three records for the same price as one.
Collection in person welcome for local buyers, in which case payment will be by cash on collection please.

Backstory
My L.P. collection began when my future parents-in-law bought me ‘Every Picture Tells A Story’ by Rod Stewart and ‘A Nod’s As Good As A Wink… To A Blind Horse’ by the Faces for Xmas 1971.
Record collecting became my passion for the next fifteen years, until my head was turned by the advent of The Compact Disc Digital Audio System (“the best possible sound reproduction – on a small, convenient disc”).😎
I sold approx half of my L.P. collection (along with my Pioneer turntable) as I gradually replaced my records with CDs. The other half was consigned to storage for the next twenty eight years until I succumbed to an overwhelming nostalgic desire to hear the warm sound of vinyl again. I purchased a Rega turntable in 2014 and have enjoyed being part of the vinyl resurgence movement for the last eight years. Whenever I play any of my records now, I am invariably amazed at how good they still sound considering most of them have been with me for the best part of fifty years…
Unfortunately, due to a change in circumstances, storage space has recently become an issue and I have had to make the difficult decision to trim down the remainder of my record collection. It hasn’t been easy deliberating over which ones to keep and which to let go, as these were some of my earliest vinyl purchases and they all hold a great deal of nostalgic value. At least having them on CD means I’ll still be able to enjoy the music, which is the most important thing after all😊

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM:
Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening of sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc...
Fair: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise: it may even jump. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
