They are different from most Gospel Singers in that they usually sing without accompaniment. It just isn’t needed when these four blend their voices in close harmony as they sing the many feelings and aspirations of the faithful. Their unusual style and heartfelt presentation always make them a favorite in "singings” from the Carolinas to Michigan. Kingsport, Tennessee, is home for the group. They have had their own weekly radio program over Radio Station WKIN eachSunday morning continually for more than twelve years They have made several guest appearances on TV and have sung for more funerals than any other group in the gospel music field. Benefit singing is a speciality of theirs. The crystal-clear tenor of congenial J. W. Depew, the warm lead voice of capable Carter Owens, personable Paul F. Bentley and his blending baritone, and the full deep bass of Fred Thompson skillfully combine in thirty minutes of good Gospel Singing that is sure to be a great blessing to every- one who listens to them. I can assure you that neither money nor fame is the reason that these men have been singing together for so long. They love gospel music, and they are dedicated to the purpose of making it available to as many people as possible in every small town across the land on a personalized basis. The quartet and I wish to thank the Gate City Funeral Home, Gate City, Virginia, for their help and financial support down through the many years the group has been together. LIVING FOR JESUS represents the quartet's first attempt at a long playing album. They have included the songs which are their favorites and, hopefully, desire that they become favorites of yours, too. Tilford Salyer Piano: J. C. Milhorn Organ: Charles Goodwin THE GOSPEL WAY QUARTET P.O. BOX 3092 KINGSPORT, TENNESSEE (Respectfully dedicated to the memory of the late Eugene Falin)
