ORIGINAL UK FIRST PRESS - STEREO
CATALOGUE:PARLOPHONE PCS 7070 MATRIX:YEX 715-1 / 716-1 MOTHERS/STAMPERS: 1 GM/ 3 GM SOLD IN THE UK STATEMENT WITH ORIGINAL BLACK INNER SLEEVE SLEEVE HAS THE TWO RED LINESTHE RECORD
THE LABELS
THE CLASSIC APPLE LABEL IS IN MAGNIFICENT CONDITION. THE DARK GREEN SIDE IS A VERY DEEP GREEN COLOUR AND HAS NO BLEMISHES AT ALL. THE WHITE SIDE IS EQUALLY PERFECT. THE GREEN COLOURS FULLY EXTEND INTO THE UNWORN SPINDLE HOLES.
THE BLACK TYPEFACE IS PERFECT ON BOTH SIDES. UNFADED AND UNRUBBED
A CAREFUL CHECK OF THE SPINDLE HOLE REVEALS A FEW LIGHT SPIDER LINES WHICH ARE VERY CLOSE TO THE HOLE, WHICH INDICATES THAT THE RECORD HAS HAD LITTLE PLAY SINCE 1968
THE VINYL
THE HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL HAS RETAINED ALL OF ITS ORIGINAL SHEEN . I HAVE SEEN MANY OF THESE THAT ARE DULL AND HAVE A WORN LOOK AND FEEL ABOUT THEM, BUT THIS ONE IS AS GOOD AS YOU WOULD EVER WANT.
IN DAYLIGHT IT LOOKS FLAWLESS
UNDER SPOTLIGHTS I SEE A FEW DULL STREAK LINES ON THE SURFACE OF SIDE ONE
PLAYING THE RECORD
OUTSTANDING STEREO SOUND FROM START TO FINSIH
NO DISTORTION ANYWHERE MEANING NO GROOVE WEAR
NO BACKGROUND CRACKLE AND THE LINKING GROOVES ARE NEAR SILENT
SIDE A PLAYS TO NEAR PERFECTION. CLEAN AND OUTSTANDING STEREO PERFORMANCE. NO EMBEDDED VINYL NOISE, NO BACKGROUND CRACKLE AND NO DISTORTION TO THE SOUND. AS THE MUSIC FADES OUT AT THE END OF THE LAST TRACK THERE ARE 2-3 TINY TICS
SIDE B PLAYS TO PERFECTION
I WOULD GRADE THE AUDIO NEAR MINT
SO TAKE A LISTEN AND JUDGE IT BY YOUR OWN STANDARDS
THE SLEEVE
THE FAMOUS FIRST ISSUE SLEEVE WITH THE TWO RED BANDS ON THE REAR SURFACE
THIS IS ONE OF THOSE SLEEVES THAT IS OFTEN FOUND TERRIBLE CREASED, DUE IN THE MAIN BECAUSE THE CARD USED IN MAKING IT WAS SO VERY THIN, AND THIS IN ADDITION CAUSED SEVERE RINGWEAR ON MOST COPIES
THIS ONE HOWEVER IS IN SUPERB CONDITION
THE FRONT SURFACE IS LAMINATED AND IN AMAZING CONDITION.
FIRSTLY THERE ARE NO HEAVY CREASES OR CREASE LINES OR BENDS.
THE SURFACE IS FLAT AND CLEAN. THERE IS NO PEELING OR FLAKING OF THE LAMINATE EITHER.
THERE ARE JUST FOUR TINY PRESSURE LINES BY THE SPINE
FOUR ON THE TOP EDGE, OF WHICH RUNS OVER THE TOP LEFT CORNER. FIVE VERY SMALL ONES ON THE BOTTOM EDGE AND ONE SMALL THUMB LINE NEAR THE OPENING EDGE
THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER TIP HAS SOME RUBBING
THE TOP AND BOTTOM EDGES ARE BOTH FREE FROM ANY SHELF WEAR APART FRPM A LITTLE RUB TO THE CORNER TIPS
THE SPINE AGAIN HAS ALL THE LAMINATE INTACT AND THE TYPEFACE IS PERFECTLY LEGIBLE. NO SQUASHING AND PRISTINE UNBLEMISHED TAPERED ENDS.
THE OPENING EDGE HAS SOME LIGHT FEATHERING
THE REAR SURFACE IS UNLAMINATED
THE TOP FLIPBACK WHILSTUNSPLIT LOOKS TO HAVE BEEN TURNED AT THE RIGHT END
THE WHITE SURFACE IS STILL VERY WHITE WITH ONLY A VERY VERY MILD SHADOW OF HANDLING TO THE EDGES AND SOME MILD AGEING
THE BLACK INNER SLEVEVE IS THE ORIGINAL ISSUED ONE, NO SEAM SPLITS ONLY A MINUSCULE NICK TO THE DIE CUT HOLE. THE CORNERS HAVE CREASES
THIS SUPERB SLEEVE EASILY GRADES EX+
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR BID IF YOU CHOSE TO GO FOR IT
