Led Zeppelin II was originally released in the United States on October 22, 1969, and October 31, 1969 in the United Kingdom by Atlantic Records. This is the second studio album from Led Zeppelin. This is described as the band's heaviest album, and exhibited the band's evolving musical style of blues-derived material and guitar riff-based sound. Six of the nine songs were written by the band, while the other three were reinterpretations of Chicago blues songs by Willie Dixon and Howlin' Wolf.
It went to #1 on the US Billboard 200 chart and UK Albums Chart (1969-1970). One single was taken from the album "Whole Lotta Love/Living Loving Maid (She's Just a Woman).It went onto to sell 12 million copies in the United States and was certified 12x Platinum by the RIAA.
