EMI / Parlophone – Urgent – Special Rush Copy Top Pop Demo Sleeve, c1960-63 This is a decent example of a paper record sleeve that once contained a Demo / Demonstration single from one of the EMI labels – including Parlophone, and so also including the early Beatles’ demos. It is printed in blue and black on white paper. (I have seen the same design printed in blue and red). As my pictures show, it does have some obvious creasing. It could do with being ironed (really) but annoyingly – our iron is broken. There is one tiny tear on one side at around the ten o’clock position on the edge of the centre hole. Nothing is missing and it is hard to notice. Each side has some staining from old tape at the top edge, that can be seen in my pictures. There s no writing anywhere. I don’t usually grade paper sleeves but in this case I would say it was around VG to VG+.
