THE MOODY BLUES - ON THE THRESHOLD OF A DREAM

 MAGNIFICENT MINT AUDIO

BARELY PLAYED AND IT SOUNDS ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT

NEAR MINT 1ST ISSUE FULLY LAMINATED 'WIDESPINE' SLEEVE

CATALOGUE:DERAM SML 1035

SUPERB EXAMPLE OF THIS EARLY MOODY BLUES ALBUM, IN A VERY HIGH GRADE COLLECTIBLE CONDITION

1ST PRESS WITH THE PORTHOLE ON THE REAR SURFACE AND STAPLED BOOK

THIS ALBUM HAS TO BE HEARD TO APPRECIATE JUST HOW IMMACULATE IT SOUNDS.

ALSO THIS IS THE WIDESPINE SLEEVE WHICH IS VERY HARD TO FIND

THE LABELS

THE RED AND WHITE  FIRST PRESS LABELS ARE IN MINT CONDITION. THE WHITE AREA IS VERY WHITE AND FULLY STRETCHES INTO THE UNWORN SPINDLE HOLE.

THE RED LOGO IS RICH AND VIBRANT AND UNRUBBED. THE BLACK TYPEFACE IS ALL PERFECTLY LEGIBLE AND CLEAR. THERE ARE ZERO  SPIDER LINES CLOSE TO THE HOLE INDICATING JUST HOW LITTLE THIS ALBUM HAS BEEN PLAYED IN THE LAST 54 YEARS

THE VINYL

BEAUTIFULLY GLOSSY ALBUM HAVING RETAINED  ALL OF IT'S ORIGINAL SHEEN AND LUSTRE. THERE ARE NO MARKS ON THE SURFACE AND IN DAYLIGHT IT LOOKS TOTALLY MINT.

AND EVEN WHEN PLACED UNDER A MAGNIFYING LED HALO THERE IS NOTHING TO SEE

A PERFECT DISC

THE TEST PLAY

THIS LP HAS SO MANY QUIET ORCHESTRAL PASSAGES, THAT ANY UNWANTED BACKGROUND NOISE IS JUST UNACCEPTABLE IN MY EYES. THIS HAS TO PLAY TO PERFECTION OR VERY CLOSE TO IN MY BOOK

FIRSTLY THE CLARITY OF THE STEREO REPRODUCTION ON THIS VINYL IS JUST SUPERB, WITH EVERY NOTE BEING HEARD CRISPLY AND CLEARLY.

THERE IS NO DISTORTION TO THE SOUND ANYWHERE ON THE ENTIRE PLAYTHROUGH

ABSOLUTELY NO BACKGROUND CRACKLES OR LOUD CLICKS ANYWHERE

THE LINKING GROOVES ARE SILENT

THERE ARE NO DUST POPS HEARD DURING THE ENTIRE PLAYTHROUGH J

IT IS WORTH HAVING A LISTEN TO EXACTLY HOW A FIRST PRESS SHOULD SOUND, SO PLEASE TAKE A GOOD LISTEN TO THE ALBUM

I AM VERY HAPPY TO GRADE THE PLAYTHROUGH AS MINT

THE SLEEVE

THIS IS THE GENUINE FIRST ISSUE SLEEVE, WHICH HAS THE PORTHOLE ON THE REAR SURFACE AND THE STAPLED IN BOOK..

IT IS ALSO THE RARER LARGE WIDESPINE ISSUE

GARROD AND LOFTHOUSE GATEFOLD SLEEVE

THE FRONT SURFACE IS FLAT AND CLEAN AND GLEAMS LIKE A MIRROR. THE LAMINATE IS IN EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION AND HAS NO HEAVY CREASES OR CREASE LINES NOR ARE THERE ANY BENDS OR FOLDS.

THERE IS NO RING WEAR AND NO RECORD SHAPE EITHER. THE FOUR CORNERS ARE SHARP AND SQUARE

THERE ARE THREE PRESSURE LINES BY THE SPINE.  NO LAMINATE LINES ON THE TOP EDGE, TWO ON THE BOTTOM EDGE, AND ZERO THUMB LINES NEAR THE OPENING EDGE

THE TOP EDGES AREPERFECTLY LAMINATED WITH COLOUT THAT FULLY RUNS FROM CORNER TO CORNER. NO RUBBING TO THE CORNER TIPS EITHER

THE BOTTOM REAR EDGE HAS A COUPLE FLECKS OF WHITE VISIBLE

THE SPINE HAS PERFECT LAMINATE, NO PEEL OR FLAKE AND ALL OF THE TYPEFACE IS PERFECTLY LEGIBLE. THE STAPLES ARE STILL SILVER AND HAVE NO RUST

THE OPENING EDGE IS RAZOR SHARP AND SHOWS WHY THIS LP HAS BARELY BEEN OUT OF THE SLEEVE

THE REAR SURFACE IS JUST PRISTINE. NOT ONE PRESSURE LINE AGAINST ANY OF THE EDGES

THE ORIGINAL BLUE AND WHITE DECCA POLY LINED INNER SLEEVE IS INCLUDED AND IS IN AN UNSPLIT CONDITION. LIGHTLY FOXED

THE BOOKLET IS CORRECTLY AND FIRMLY STAPLED INTO THE SLEEVE

THERE ARE A FEW LIGHT FOXING MOTTLES ON THE LEFT INNER PANEL AND SOME IN THE BOOK

THE SLEEVE EASILY GRADES NEAR MINT

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR BID IF YOU CHOSE TO GO FOR IT
