This copy of the 1963 album ‘Lightning Hopkins Sings the Blues’ is in very good condition for its age.
This UK mono LP was issued on the blue-green Realm label (RM 128) and collects 12 raw mono recordings made in Houston around 1950/51 (including the track ‘Tap Dance Boogie’, featuring a rhythm click created by bottle caps nailed into the heels of Lightnin's shoes).
The laminated sleeve has a 3.25 inch/9 cms tear at the top right-hand edge and 2.5 inch/6 cms tear to the centre of the spine. There is also some damage to the top left-hand corner of the rear sleeve and biro marking near the bottom (see 2nd photo).
The transparent appear inner sleeve is in very good condition.
The record itself has some surface marking and (as is to be expected for a record of this age) some surface noise but nothing excessive.
Side 1 features the tracks Home In The Woods; Tap Dance Boogie; Worried Blues; One Kind Of Favour; Untrue Blues; Fast Life Woman.
Side 2 features My Heart To Weep; I’ll Never Forget The Day; Broken Hearted Blues; Lightnin’s Gone Again; European Blues; Lightnin’s Blues.
The L.P. will be packed securely before shipping. Postage is free within the U.K.
