Covers and packaging are graded first, then thedisc(s)... for example:
Ex- / Vg+ - (Cover / Disc)
Mint (M)
The record itself is in brand new condition with nosurface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra itemssuch as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
Excellent (Ex)
The record shows some signs of having been played, butthere is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging mighthave slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good (Vg)
The record has obviously been played many times, and mayhave slight deterioration in sound quality, noticeable surface marks and theoccasional light scratch. Sleeve will have wear and tear, as expected for it'sage.
Good (Gd)
The record has been played so much that the sound qualityhas noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and scratches. Thecover and contents suffer from significant folding, scuffing of edges,discolouration, etc.
Fair – F
The record still plays through, but visually it will havelots of scratches and audibly, very noticeable surface noise such as crackling,distortion, clicks and pops. The sound quality will have significantlydeteriorated and listening experience will be poor. The cover maydamaged, torn or stained. A record in fair condition is normally regardedas a collection-filler.
Poor - P
A record in poor condition will be cracked, warped or badly damaged tosuch an extent that it won't play through properly. The sleeve will bevery badly damaged. It may be defaced, faded, heavily soiled, have seamsplits, be ripped or torn and might be water damaged. In some cases itwill be completely missing.
