The Santana “Lotus” vinyl album, released by CBS Records under the catalog number CBS 66325, is a highly regarded live album recorded in 1974. This 3 LP set was recorded live at the Koseinenkin Hall in Osaka, Japan, on July 3 and 4, 1973. The album features a lineup including Carlos Santana on lead guitar, Michael Shrieve on drums, Tom Coster and Richard Kermode on keyboards, Doug Rauch on bass, Armando Peraza on congas, and José “Chepito” Areas on percussion, among others. The album includes tracks such as “Incident At Neshabur,” “Toussaint L’Overture,” “Samba Pa Ti,” and “Mr. Udo.” It was originally released in a 6-panel gatefold cover with black die-cut inner sleeves and two T-shaped 8-panel inserts featuring artwork, credits, and the band’s itinerary in Japan .
