Limited to just 100 hand-numbered copies, this single was released in 2021 on beautiful, lathe-cut vinyl by the Graham Duff curated label Heaven's Lathe through Bandcamp but has now sold out. The page is still there though, so to hear some 30 second samples go there and search for 'The Lounge Bar Orchestra' (while there you could also check out the other very collectible releases on Graham's fantastic label because while quite a few have sold out, not all of them have yet).
The condition of this item is MINT. I have taken it out and looked lovingly at it twice and that's it. The record is unplayed, I just listen to the digital files that came with purchase of the vinyl (which are not included here btw).
These 7 inches are beautifully lathe cut, engineered and designed by "Bladud Flies!" (Michael Lawrence and Lauren Winton). This item will be posted to you in a used Bladud Flies! mailer. Here's what's inside;
7” high quality stereo lathe cut vinyl with engraved Heavens Lathe logo.
230gsm sleeve (hand numbered).
Black inner sleeve.
Polylined inner sleeve (housing the record).
PVC protective sleeve.
Bladud Flies! lathe-cut care card.
On the Bandcamp page Graham Duff writes; Heaven’s Lathe is thrilled to be releasing these recently unearthed vintage soundtrack recordings composed by the legendary Reg Omeroyd and performed by The Lounge Bar Orchestra. The BBC1 spy thriller ‘E.N.D.A.N.G.E.R.M.E.N.T.’ (1971-72) ran for two series. Starring Anneke Wills and Maurice Colbourne (as Agents 9 and K), it concerned an MI5 department tasked with rescuing agents operating in deep cover. Sadly, all the episodes have since been wiped. All that survive are the recordings of Omeroyd’s theme tune and various incidental cues. Now, for the first time in 50 years, this wonderful music can be heard again".
And he never lies...
Whatever, both tracks are a lot of fun.
