Joy Ranch, a non-sectarian Christian Home for children started in March 1961. It's located on 24 acres in Carroll County near Hillsville, Va. in a unique setting of rolling hills and woods, ideally suited for growing children. Joy Ranch provides care, support, and Christian training for dependent and needy children. With a marked spiritual emphasis, the Home seeks to meet the need of the total child, directing his activities toward practical Christian living. Recognizing that there is no substitute for a child's own home, the Ranch excels in giving the child that individual attention necessary to his emotional well-being. Each boy and girl is accepted as a sacred trust to care for and to guide into society a well adjusted Christian citizen. To the Ranch, its most important task is to help a child, hurt by life, to once more find faith and purpose for living.
