DIRE STRAITS: Brothers In Arms (Vertigo, VERH 25, 1985, LP)
Bought new, not really liked that much and played about three times. This has been sitting in the collection since then, unplayed and unloved, and only bought because my very soon ex-girlfriend thought she liked them (because all her friends did).
Benefits, though, to me, here and now. This is probably one of the nicest condition copies you will find. The sleeve (with original hype sticker) is EX with minimal shelf wear, what with having been on a shelf (yes!) for almost forty years without me touching it. The inner sleeve is also in near new condition though with the LP shape having become lightly imprinted. The record plays near new, still with a few static pops that a few more plays (or an anti-static gun) will eliminate. It's even in a Japanese anti-static inner sleeve that I used to buy for all new albums in those days (that was clearly a waste of 35p based on the LP still having a static charge). That has, though, no doubt helped keep the condition of the record tip-top.
Oh, yes, my brother used to play in a band (Spring) with the original Dire Straits drummer, Pick Withers, replaced by Man/Rockpile's Terry Williams by this time.
* * * * Records generally have hairline marks from going in and out of sleeves - I do not mention these unless they cause audible noise. All records are play tested unless explicitly stated otherwise. Most of the records I am selling play at "Excellent" or "Very Good" as per Record Collector grading. Any specific defects are otherwise described in the listing. Please look at the photos carefully for condition of sleeves/labels.
All items won, up to a value of £150.00, will be sent as Royal Mail Tracked 24. If items are bid above £150.00 (or multiple items combine to more than £150), they will be sent as Royal Mail Special Delivery, so that parcels are correctly insured against loss or damage in transit.
If you win multiple items, please wait for me to invoice with correct postage. Note that the postage costs stated include packaging costs. Where possible, packaging will be recycled but sturdy/secure.
Combined postage **for UK buyers only** - 6 single LPs cost the same to post as 1 single LP. Note that if you win items in multiple formats (e.g., an LP and a CD) I cannot combine postage (though I can bundle up 7" records with an LP).
**Non-UK bidders** please note I use eBay's Global Shipping Programme, which means every item won has to be packaged and sent separately. Combined postage is not possible.
Non-paying high bidders will be blocked from bidding on future items.
* * * * All items are from my own collection unless stated. Most has been in storage for over 20 years. Lockdowns made me wonder why I have multiple copies of records that I will never listen to. There are about 8,000 more items to come from my rambling progressive, jazz fusion, folk, blues, 1950s stereo classical and easy listening, psychedelic, reggae, ambient, spoken word, comedy, railway, field recordings, electronic and occasionally just plain 'out there' collection.
