Description of Condition Gradings

Vinyl is visually graded under a strong halogen lightbulb which shows far more imperfections in the vinyl than daylight or a typical lightbulb. Some of my records have been spot play-tested, but not all of them. I do not use + or - grades. Occasionally, a record graded as EX may be very close to being graded NM, but rather than being EX++ or NM-, is graded EX to ensure that you will be happy with the record. Some of these records would benefit from being professionally cleaned.

MINT - the vinyl may have a couple of faint hairline scratches or fewer. The sleeve, box or inserts will be near-perfect with some very faint scuffing in the corners or better.

NM - the vinyl may have between two and five faint hairline scratches. The sleeve, box or inserts may have slightly more very faint scuffing in the corners or on the edges. There may be a couple of very small faint creases on the spine or the other edges.

EX - the vinyl may have several very faint scratches, between five and ten, or one or two small scratches that are slightly deeper than faint scratches. The sleeve, box or inserts may have some faint scuffing of the edges. There may be one or two faint creases in a corner or on the opening edge. There may be some minor discolouring, foxing or ringwear and there may be an unobtrusive name or number written on the sleeve.

VG - the vinyl may have between two and several small scratches or quite a lot of very faint scratches. The sleeve, box or inserts may have quite a lot of scuffing of the edges. There may be a few faint creases in the corners or on the opening edge. There may be a small seam split. There may be some more discolouring, foxing or ringwear, or there may be a small message written on the back of the sleeve or on the insert.

G - vinyl may have larger scratches or a considerable number of small scratches and a lot of very faint scratches. The sleeve, box or inserts may have considerable scuffing of the edges. There may be several creases in the corners or on the opening edge. There may be a considerable seam split. There may be a lot of discolouring, foxing or ringwear. There may be a tear on the sleeve.

I will not sell any records in worse condition than good (G), but occasionally a sleeve may be worse, in which case the condition will be described more fully.

I will stockpile LPs for a maximum of 30 days for anybody who wants to bid on more than one LP to take advantage of my postage offers, but if you pay me I will post the LPs that are paid for. Any more LPs that you win after that will be dealt with as a separate parcel. If you want to bid on more LPs after you have won an auction, please ignore my invoice. Pay me when the other auctions you are bidding on have finished, or if the 30-day deadline for paying for the first auction is close to elapsing. Postage Costs

UK: £2.50 for 1 LP, add £0.80 for each extra LP up to MAXIMUM POSTAGE COST TO THE UK OF £4.00.

Europe: £5.50 for 1 LP, add £1.50 for each extra LP up to a MAXIMUM POSTAGE COST TO EUROPE OF £22.00.

USA & Canada: £9.00 for 1 LP, add £3.50 for each extra LP up to a MAXIMUM POSTAGE COST TO THE USA & CANADA OF £30.00.

Asia, Australasia & South America: £9.00 for 1 LP, add £3.50 for each extra LP up to a MAXIMUM POSTAGE COST TO ASIA, AUSTRALASIA & SOUTH AMERICA OF £50.00.

If you buy more than one LP, please wait until I have sent you an invoice before paying. All double LPs count as 2 LPs for postage costs, all triples as 3 LPs etc.

UK buyers – payment is accepted via PayPal, personal cheque or postal order.
Overseas buyers – payment is accepted via PayPal.

Please ensure that the correct address details are sent with the payment. I will post the parcel to the address, on the PayPal transaction details or enclosed with a cheque, within three days of receipt.
