AN ABSOLUTELY SUPERB EXAMPLE OF THIS EARLY EMI PRESSED ASYLUM LP COMPLETE WITH ITS RARE INSERT
NOW REGARDED AS A BIT OF A LOST GEM AT THE TIME IT SOLD POORLY SO THESE EARLY EMI PRESSINGS ARE ESPECIALLY HARD TO FIND, THE GATEFOLD WAS ORIGINALLY DESIGNED TO FOLD OUT TO CREATE ONE LARGE POSTER, THAT IS WHY EARLY COPIES APPEAR TO HAVE THE INSIDE GATEFOLD PICTURE UPSIDE DOWN, HOWEVER DAVID GEFFEN PULLED THE PLUG ON THAT IDEA LATE IN THE DAY, TO VERY MUCH CHAGRIN !!
EMI PRESSED ELEKTRA/ ASYLUM FROM AROUND 1972-76 BUT WHEN DAVID GEFFEN SOLD OUT TO WARNERS. ELEKTRA HAD FOR A SHORT TIME ALREADY BEEN A WARNER KINNEY LABEL BUT MOVED AWAY WHEN ASYLUM WAS FOUNDED BOTH LABELS WOULD EVENTUALLY BE COMBINED AND LATER ALL LP'S RE-ISSUED WITH WARNER GROUP K PREFIX CAT NUMBER
BECAUSE THE EAGLES ONLY ACHIEVED MAINSTREAM SUCCESS IN THE UK IN THE MID 70'S MOST COPIES OF THEIR LP'S WILL BE MID 70'S ONWARDS WARNER RE-ISSUES, THESE EMI ASYLUM LP'S ARE HARD TO FIND
