THE DOORS

LOT OF 4 LP RECORD ALBUMS

1.         THE DOORS SELF-TITLED DEBUT LP

ELEKTRA EARLY TAN LABEL PRESSING: Condition (Vinyl = VG-, Cover = VG)

I have personally listened to both sides of this LP. There is moderate surface noise throughout and I noted one skip on Side 2 Track 1, otherwise played through without any other issues. This is a pretty good sounding LP. Visually it looks worse than it plays, as it has some scuffs and surface markings on both sides. I am rating this LP as a Very Good Minus (VG-) quality LP. The LP cover is in average condition with nominal wear and tear. No issues, just average wear. Based on the Cover Grading Classification criteria listed below, I rate this LP cover as Very Good (VG). Inner sleeve is the original Elektra sleeve (not really significant) as shown in picture and it is in good condition.

2.          THE DOORS WAITING FOR THE SUN LP

ELEKTRA EARLY TAN LABEL PRESSING: Condition (Vinyl = VG-, Cover = VG)

I have not personally listened to both sides of this LP. I have visually inspected both sides and they appear to be pretty well used vinyl. Some surface markings and just overall looks to be below average condition vinyl. I am rating this LP as a Very Good Minus (VG-) quality LP. The LP gatefold cover is in average condition with nominal wear and tear. No significant issues with the cover, just average wear. Cover also includes “Hello, I Love You” hype sticker on front cover as shown in picture. Based on the Cover Grading Classification criteria listed below, I rate this LP cover as Very Good (VG). Inner sleeve is a black Elektra plain sleeve which is not significant, it is in good condition.

3.         THE DOORS STRANGE DAYS LP

ELEKTRA EARLY TAN LABEL PRESSING: Condition (Vinyl = G, Cover = VG)

I have not personally listened to both sides of this LP. I have visually inspected both sides and they appear to be excessively used and most certainly will not play well. If you are looking for VG- or better vinyl you should look elsewhere. This is very well used vinyl. I do not usually sell vinyl in this condition but there seems to still be a strong market for this tan label pressing whatever the condition. I am rating this LP as a Good (G) quality LP. The LP cover is in below average condition with significant wear and tear including ring wear. Based on the Cover Grading Classification criteria listed below, I rate this LP cover as Good (G). Inner sleeve is original with pictures and lyrics and it is in good condition.

4.         THE DOORS ABSOLUTELY LIVE DOUBLE LP SET

ELEKTRA BUTTERFLY LABEL PRESSING: Condition (Vinyl = VG-, Cover = VG)

I have not personally listened to all four sides of this LP set. I have visually inspected all sides and they appear to be pretty well used vinyl. Some surface markings and just overall looks to be below average condition vinyl. I am rating this LP set as a Very Good Minus (VG-) quality LPs. The LP gatefold cover is in average condition with nominal wear and tear. Gatefold colour looks good. No significant issues with the cover or gatefold, just average wear. Based on the Cover Grading Classification criteria listed below, I rate this LP cover as Very Good (VG). Inner sleeves are not significant, they are plain white paper sleeves.

Grading Classification:

I do my best to be fair and honest with my record grading assessment.  I will provide as much detail as possible to give potential buyers everything they need to know about the product(s) you are bidding on. Therefore; I grade my LP vinyl and jackets/inner sleeves separately to provide the most accurate description of all the contents. I have developed a detailed grading system for both the LP record and the jacket. If the inner sleeve has significance it will be noted.  I inspect and grade all vinyl by either listening to or visually inspecting under bright lighting. Questionable marks are played to ensure no skipping. Major anomalies will be noted.

Vinyl Grading Classification:

-->Still Sealed (SS) = Sealed in original shrink wrap. Anomalies (Saw cuts, cut-out holes, creases, etc.) will be noted.

-->Near Mint (NM) = A superb LP record that is nearly perfect. Shiny, no visible defects, appears to be brand new, except without the shrink wrap. A good description of a NM record is “it looks like it just came from a retail store and it was opened for the first time.”

-->Near Mint Minus (NM-) = An LP record that is very close to (NM). No signs of wear. Very minor defects are allowed.

-->Very Good Plus (VG+) = An LP record that has been played, but well cared for.  It may show light wear, such as light scratches or scuffs which have little or no effect on the listening experience.

-->Very Good (VG) = An LP record that exhibits obvious signs of use. Limited scuffs and scratches causing moderate surface noise that will be evident upon playing.  There will be light scratches which will affect the sound quality. Defects should not overpower the music and it should be a fairly pleasant listening experience.

-->Very Good Minus (VG-) = An LP record considered acceptable. The record will play through without skipping, but with significant surface noise and scratches.  Well used vinyl.

-->Good (G) = An LP record marginally acceptable. LP exhibits visible scratches, some skips/jumps and bad surface noise.

I do not sell records below a “Good” rating.

Cover Grading Classification:

-->Near Mint (NM) = LP cover has no creases, folds, seam splits or other noticeable defects. No cut-out holes, either. The same is true for any inserts, posters, lyric sleeves and the like.

-->Very Good Plus (VG+) = LP cover may have slight signs of wear and may also be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation or corner indicating it was taken out of print and sold at a discount.  Inner sleeve and will have some moderate wear, and may have lightly turned up corners.

-->Very Good (VG) = LP cover may have light to moderate ring wear, some tape, stickers, glue, writing, a small seam split, but not all of these defects. Too many of these types of defects will degrade the cover to a Good (G) classification.

-->Good (G) = LP cover shows signs of significant wear that includes seam splits (especially at the bottom or on the spine) and worn corners. Tape, writing, ring wear or other defects will start to overwhelm the object.

-->Fair (F) = LP cover that barely holds and protects the record. LP cover may include (but not all) the following defects: marred by wear, writing, water damage, seam splits on all three sides, inner sleeve seams splits, crinkled and written upon. If it is a common LP cover/sleeve, you'll need to find another copy in better shape to replace it.

Shipping:

(Please Read)

USA Domestic: .

International: I am willing to ship parcels internationally. However, there are some risks/costs considerations that should be identified with overseas shipments: I can ship either Priority Mail Insured or 1st Class International; it is up to the buyer to decide which method is preferred. If you select Priority Mail Insured, the cost for a single LP will be approximately $50 ($30 Canada). This is recommended if your parcel exceeds a $50 value. If you select 1st Class International the cost will be around $20 ($12 Canada) for a single LP. The risk with 1st Class International shipping is that there is NO USPS shipment tracking service available.  So if the parcel is delayed in the international customs department I will have no status of the shipment. Also, the international buyer will need to agree to accept all risk of loss or damage associated with 1st Class International Shipping.  In short, most shipments with a parcel value under $50 usually will ship 1st Class International, and any parcel in excess of $50 should be shipped Priority Mail Insured. Ultimately, I will need the buyer to decide and let me know how to proceed. If you win the bid, please wait for the Invoice so I can accurately provide the shipping total to you. I will not charge you more than the USPS fee.

Packaging:

LPs will be boxed carefully in a corrugated box made specifically for LPs to protect the cover.  LPs will include a clear plastic outer LP sleeve. LPs will be removed from cover for shipping to prevent seam splitting (unless sealed).

I will combine shipping costs for winners of multiple auction listings. If you win multiple bids please wait for the invoice prior to making payment. I charge 1.00 for first additional LP, and 0.50 for each additional LP. Thanks for looking.
