Recorded in 1962, this is the album that brought Bossa Nova to the world stage. It was when guitarist Charlie Byrd returned from a diplomatic tour of South America and met Stan Getz at the Showboat Lounge in Washington DC and later, at his home, played him some bossa nova records by João Gilberto and Antonio Carlos Jobim that he had bought in Brazil. The rest is history.

From a well cared for jazz collection This is an early reissue, probably from the 1970s and in superb condition. Note .it is not a new repressing or foreign copy.
