All grading is visual, Jacket/Vinyl, unless otherwise noted.
M-: Vinyl/labels look new; Jacket free of wear; record may have been played, but seldom and with great care. Inner sleeves are like new. I rarely use this grade.
EX: Vinyl shows minimal negligible signs of use, possibly a light sleeve scuff, or slight mark, but should still play as well as a M- LP. Jacket may show very light wear on seams and corners, but should still be crisp and free of significant wear. Inner sleeve is free of splits and tears, though it may show slight wear or bending.
VG+: Vinyl has a few hairline marks or signs of wear; may play with light surface noise, a few intermittent tics or pops but still sounds fine, with no distracting problems. Labels may have a few light spindle marks; jacket may have light ring, seam and corner wear, maybe a few light creases or bends, but no seam splits or other significant defects. Light discoloration or staining, which is not seriously distracting. Inner sleeve may have bending or small splits.
VG: I play grade all records with this grade. Vinyl shows obvious signs of wear ? light scratches, scuffs, groove wear -- but still plays well, with no skips; defects are not significant enough to prevent enjoyable listening. Jackets may have split seams, small tears, bending, obvious ring, seam and corner wear, more pronounced stains. Inner sleeve may have splits tears and bending but remains intact.
Records in less than VG condition have to be very rare for me to even list them. Such records are play graded, with playability problems and visual defects of both vinyl and jacket explained in detail.
Jackets of sealed LPs and condition of shrink wrap are described in detail. If you have further questions regarding condition, please feel free to e-mail me before you bid.
