I am the original owner of this record; it is from my personal collection that I began building in the 1950's. I am NOT a dealer or professional record-grader, so I have not assigned grades. However, prior to listing, I have cleaned the record using "Groove Washer G2" record-cleaning fluid, and I have listened to each track. Following is my assessment, based on these visual and listening reviews:
COVER: Bright and glossy with sharp graphics; light foxing on front and back; very light edge wear; no split seams; 3 stickers on front -- one for Grammy award for "Respect", one Gold Record Award, and one black-&-white promoting "Respect". According to the liner notes on the back, this album contains her first recordings for Atlantic Records.
VINYL: shiny with a few light scratches/smudges, but nothing that affects play; sound is clear with minimal surface/background noise; only an occasional pop or crackle; plays through without skips or sticking.
LABEL: very clean, showing only faint wear around the center hole. This is the Atlantic green-&-blue label with a black "whirring" fan, which was used for their STEREO albums early-to-mid 1960's.
INNER SLEEVE: original; some edge wear/wrinkling; no splits. I am also including a new inner sleeve.
** Aretha plays piano on ALL of the tunes in this album **
The album will ship in an archival outer vinyl sleeve, and will be boxed in a cardboard album mailer.
